From May 4 to Sep 9 2024
A tribute to Ellsworth Kelly
Venture into the world of one of the most significant artists of the second half of the 20th century with the Fondation Louis Vuitton's Ellsworth Kelly – Shapes and Colors, 1949–2015 exhibition. Celebrating the centenary of Kelly's birth, this is France's first comprehensive overview of the artist's work, showcasing a diverse collection of over 100 pieces. A must-see for art lovers!
Exploring Kelly's creative odyssey across diverse mediums
The exhibition traces Kelly's exploration of the relationship between shape, color, line, and space through key works from pivotal periods in his career. The collection, presented on two floors, offers an array of works that urge viewers to appreciate the deceptive simplicity of Kelly's artistic vocabulary and the surprising vitality and richness of his body of work. One of the striking exhibits is Yellow Curve, the first of Kelly's large-scale floor paintings, presented in Europe for the first time since its creation in 1990.
