Wear the knot of the obi (belt) on the back, not the front!

Don’t forget to wear an undergarment or the nagajuban before the kimono.

Wear white socks when wearing a kimono in Japan. Bare feet is not allowed.

Wearing shoes indoors is seen as extremely unhygienic and you'll be expected to take them off when entering the kimono rental shop, temples and some restaurants.

Getting ready typically takes 45-70 minutes, depending on the kind of kimono you've chosen.

Please ensure your kimono is returned by 6pm to avoid additional charges of 550 JPY per person for every 15 minutes beyond the deadline.
