Once you reach Newark Creek from Queenstown, your skilled tour guides will get you ready for a day of adventure. Your rafting experience will begin here - you'll glide through the exciting rapids on King River. The famous Sailor Jack Rapid will surely make your adrenaline rush. After the gorge, the river flattens out where you'll be able to experience the tranquility of the tree-lined West Coast of Tasmania.
You'll see thousands of Huon pine trees and the fascinating platypus pool on Garfield River. Your tour guide will make sure you don't miss spotting the Abt Railway and the sites of past mining in the region. You'll learn about natural history as well as the history of industrialization in the region through engrossing stories. The first part of your 20km journey will be filled with excitement, while the second part will allow you to thoroughly appreciate the lush wilderness by the river.
