Your 3-hour tour of the pristine Bay of Kotor begins with a dream-like islet called Our Lady of the Rocks. The man-made island houses its eponymous church. However, the story of its creation is probably more intriguing than the monument itself. According to a legend dating back more than 500 years, seafarers found an icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the waters and vowed to build a church in her honor. Thus, started the tradition of throwing rocks into the area continues to the present day.
As you move towards the Luštica peninsula, you can step out to examine the hidden submarine tunnels that were once used by the Yugoslav Army. If you are feeling a bit adventurous, take a walk or swim across its 100-meter length and, who knows, may be you will come across one of the abandoned Yugoslav Navy ships. As you head further, you will enter the famous Blue Cave, which is seen as an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling. The water in the sea cave gets illuminated from the bottom of the sea, lending it an iridescent blue color.
