Spend a day at Auschwitz to get a glimpse of an epic human tragedy, and later destress for two hours in Krakow.
Explore the Main Camp, Auschwitz I
Ride the Polish Railway from Warsaw to Krakow and embark on a minibus tour to Auschwitz. Walk into Auschwitz I through the entrance with the famous slogan "Arbeit Macht Frei" or "Work sets you free." See the SS guardhouse where the prisoners first entered the concentration camp. See the barracks, gas chambers, and reconstructed crematorium I. Learn more about the perished prisoners through exhibitions of the Auschwitz Museum from your guide.
Visualize Nazi Cruelty at Auschwitz II-Birkenau
See the railway entrance gate of the trains carrying the prisoners and the ramps the prisoners walked on after deboarding. Get a glimpse of the camp bathhouse called Sauna, where Nazis disinfected the prisoners before exploiting them as slave laborers. Understand the inhuman Nazi atrocities through the ruins of gas chambers and crematoria II-V. See the barracks called Kanada where they stored the stolen belongings of murdered prisoners. Pay your respect to the monuments dedicated to the victims.
Unwind at Krakow
Travel back to Krakow, leaving the gloomy edifices of Auschwitz behind. Enjoy free time in the Old Town by yourself. See the Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) dating back to the Renaissance, Town Hall Tower whose cellars once housed a city prison with a Medieval torture chamber. Admire the architectural beauty of the Adam Mickiewicz Monument which is a statue of the greatest Polish Romantic poet of the 19th century and the 14th-century St. Mary's Basilica at the medieval Main Market Square.
