I proposed on top. We met here a few months ago and decided to get married. So galata tower was a perfect place to ask your lady to marry you. Beautiful views of the city where we met for the first time. WE LOVE ISTANBUL !!

The pre-loaded audio was excellent and saved me around £8 extra buying earphones from the kiosk. The description leading up to the tower was great to listen to whilst in the queue. I would have liked the audio to tell me which window to look out of to see each of the historical sites below. Just saying "look north" meant nothing to me. So I had to walk around trying to find them.

I had a difficulty because my Iphone was out of battery whenwe arrived, and I only has the QR on my Iphone. I had to explain this to a girl who helped me with finding a charger, and turning on my phone, to get them. It was magical, to find someone that saved us from the possibility of not being able to enter the Galata Tower for the Sunset. This was our last day in Istanbul. I regret not knowing her name, she was an extraordinary sweet and special girl.

From the terrace, see one of the most - if not the most beautiful view of this stunning city, all of the historical peninsula, the Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Bosphorus Strait, the Bosphorus Bridge, the Marmara Sea, both European and Asian sides of Istanbul, Golden Horn and even the Prince Islands. Please note that there is mostly no internet or very little signal in the museum. Please download the Audio Guide App on your own smartphone before your visit.
Remember to bring your earphones.
Please check your voucher for the audio guide instructions.
Note: As of Nov 1, 2023, the Observation Terrace on the 8th floor will be closed due to restoration. Other floors can still be visited.
