Galata Maritime Museum
The Galata Sea Museum (Galata Museo del Mare) in Genoa, has a number of interesting exhibitions. Genoa's nautical heritage and its rise to maritime supremacy are two highlights. Discover the history and development of shipping and maritime technology, including a wide range of ship and boat sizes. The effects of humans on marine life and the oceanic environment are only some of the topics covered in this introduction to marine biology and oceanography.
Experience what it's like to be a sailor or a passenger on a lengthy cruise via interactive exhibitions and simulations. One of the major exhibits here is the submarine Nazario Sauro, named after Italian naval commander Nazario Sauro, a hero of the Italian resistance in World Wars I and II. The submarine Nazario Sauro has been meticulously rebuilt and is now a floating museum and cultural center dedicated to the exploration of submarines and their significance to the Italian armed forces. Learn about the history of naval conflict and the daily lives of submariners by exploring its numerous displays, including the crew quarters, control room, and engine room.
