Your Experience

On the morning of the tour, you will get picked up from your hotel and begin your two-day adventure into the villages and the natural landscape of Granada Geopark. The first stop on your route is the Acequia del Toril, an impressive natural aqueduct that has formed over the centuries. Explore its mineral-rich environment before continuing onwards to Gorafe, one of Granada’s most charming towns. Admire the dramatic scenery of the natural desert here, full of different shapes and colors. Your guide will lead you to the cave houses and well-preserved dolmens of Megalithic Park and tell you all about their fascinating history.

Next, head to the viewpoint of Mirador de Jabalcon, from where you can look out at the Quaternary sediments of the basin and learn about its geological evolution. Break for lunch at one of the top restaurants in town that offers fresh local and seasonal food. Once you’ve had your meal, your tour of the first day ends. In the evening, you will arrive at the charming town of Baza where you will spend the night in a well-equipped cave house!

The next morning, start off with a walking tour to see the lovely city of Baza. Visit monuments with immense historical significance such as the Iberian-Roman city of Basti or the Arab Baths. Leave Baza and head to the town of Castellon Alto, an archeological site shaped by the El Argar culture, where you can find out what daily life was like in the late period of the Bronze Age. At Galera, enjoy 2 wine tastings in one of the finest wineries of the region. At the end of the tour, you will feast on a delicious local lunch, before making the trip back to Granada.
