Designed by Frank Gehry, an award-winning architect of Canadian and American origin, this glittering building is an exciting play on mathematics and geometry. The Guggenheim Museum is surrounded by promenades, parks, and recently built squares. The proximity to the river makes pleasant riverside walks possible. Once you arrive, a marvelous sight awaits you, along with essential works by artists of central figures like Mark Rothko, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, Louise Bourgeois, and many more.

The real heart of the Museum is The Atrium, an exhibition space, serving as an axis for 20 galleries and is purposefully vast. It will be easy for you to get around the museum despite its overwhelming, spacious design with the help of an audio guide. The Guggenheim Zero experience is a sensory experience that provides insight into the urban history of the Bilbao region. Walk around the museum, taking in the "essentials", such as Mark Rothko's Untitled, Jeff Koons' Puppy, Richard Serra's The Matter of Time, and more. Temporary exhibits such as Lee Krasner's Living Color, William Kentridge's Fragments, and more will certainly catch your eye!
