Your Experience
Your Experience
Leave the modern metropolis of Mexico and head towards three of its cherished landmarks, steeped in history and Mexican culture. Your first stop, the Plaza de las Tres Culturas is the main square within the Tlatelolco neighborhood, and the “three cultures” recognize the three periods of Mexican history, which is reflected in the buildings of the plaza (pre-Columbian, Spanish colonial, and the independent nation). Take in the vestiges of the pyramids and the Temple of Santiago Apóstol as you learn more about prehispanic Mexico from your tour guide.
Continue on to the city of the gods, Teotihuacán. This prehispanic city is one of Mexico’s most significant archeological zones. Gaze up at the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the citadel, the avenue of the dead, and the temple of Quetzalpapalotl here. After this, you will visit an artisan center, where you will learn all about the Acolman monastery that dates back to the 16th century. Gasp at the handicrafts while enjoying a traditional drink (Tequila, Mezcal, and Pulque).
