Why Watch Awakening
Why Watch Awakening
With the expertise of Vegas legends Baz Halpin and Bernie Yuman, the lavish production combines the talents of award-winning puppet master Michael Curry, whose elaborate, oversized pieces include a larger-than-life whale and a towering monster that rises over the audience. Technically, Awakening is a marvel. The modular stage transforms seamlessly between scenes, creating environments ranging from serene underwater vistas to fiery nightmares. Everything from the haute couture inspired costumes to the color-shifting illusion created by the glass set comes together to transport you to the land of awakening. Catch the Wynn’s most ambitious production in Las Vegas, only at the Awakening Theater.
The Story
At its core, the show follows the mythic journey of IO, a savior on a quest to reunite the forces of Light and Darkness. Banned from being together, the two entities have left the world in chaos. Among towering puppets and dangerous illusions, IO journeys across three fantastical realms. Along the way, she must gather Light’s three crystals and confront the sorrowful, menacing Darkness. Will she bring balance to the world, or will the evil forces consume everything? The stakes are high, but with the help of magical creatures, the heroine must find a way.
