The fact that we had to go around the entire museum fence because the front entrances were closed, then, back to the entrance of the museum to see Napoleon's Tomb and then back again round trip was very exhausting. We did not appreciate that at all. We basically lost an entire hour just because of that, and we had to visit everything quite rapidly.Dujardin

If you buy tickets in advance, you won't have to wait. At the Musée des Armées, the richness of the collections is breathtaking. To have succeeded in preserving fabrics of any kind is a feat when you consider all that our country has been through. We then went on to admire Napoleon's tomb, surrounded by those of other great men. Finally, we took a stroll around the Cour d'Honneur. We didn't see everything, so we'll have to go back again....View original review in French
Among the 5 most visited museums in France, the Army Museum in Paris is also home to one of the largest collections of military artifacts and history on the planet. In his tomb, none other than Napoleon Bonaparte has lain since 1861. Receive first access to this collection of weapons, armor, and artwork aimed towards the military.
Napoleon I's tomb is housed within the 110-meter golden dome of the Dôme des Invalides, a structure that was constructed between 1677 and 1706 and reaches far into the Paris sky. The inscriptions and laurel crown commemorate the Empire's greatest triumphs, and his son and brothers also rest here.
You can find weapons and armor from the 13th to the 17th centuries in the Old Department, such as the equestrian armor of Francis I, to help you envision what it might have been like to be at war in those eras. Similarly, understand in detail the most important conflicts in history, peek into soldiers' lives, and discover how technology has evolved in the Modern Department.
The visit to Historial Charles de Gaulle will allow you to experience an interactive multimedia space dedicated to his military, political, and social life and work. The next stop, at the Musee des Plans-Reliefs, will allow you to have a look at an assortment of models of French fortified sites. Finally, the Museum of the Order of the Liberation will introduce you to the order created by General de Gaulle to distinguish the heroes of the Liberation of France.
At nightfall, enjoy an immersive experience where the interior of this iconic Parisian monument takes on new life through the magic of lighting, video mapping, and orchestral music. You discover enlightening truths as you navigate the Army Museum and its 6 chapels under the guidance of light. Want to further enhance the quality of your entire experience? Opt for a multilanguage digital audio guide.
