An intimate tour through Liria Palace
In this small-group guided tour, your Spanish-speaking guide brings Liria Palace’s history and art to life with stories of its residents, including Duchess Cayetana de Alba, a beloved figure in Spanish society. With a focus on intimate storytelling, the guide sheds light on lesser-known anecdotes, such as the palace’s wartime resilience and how key pieces were preserved against all odds. This personal approach lets you see Liria Palace not only as a place of grandeur but as a lived-in home with tales of family legacy and social influence.
Discover stories of Spanish nobility
In this close-knit tour setting, you’ll have ample opportunity to ask questions and engage with your guide’s knowledge of the palace’s highlights. Learn about famous visitors to Liria Palace, the Alba family’s contributions to Spain’s cultural heritage, and the lives of the influential figures whose portraits line its walls. Your guide will share insights into the symbolism behind specific pieces, like the use of Spanish themes in artwork by Goya, and uncover details in the furniture and decor that hint at the Alba family’s refined tastes. With a guide to lead the way, you’ll experience each room’s distinct character and understand the broader cultural significance of the palace’s legacy.
