The monastery is beautiful, a place to visit without a doubt, but I would like to make a point, people who have purchased the ticket to visit the mosaterio should have preference to see the church, once you have visited the monastery with the same ticket directly to the church, because in our case when we left there was a queue that went around and for time we could not stay and did not see the church and pay 18 € to see only the monastery, it is very expensive ...

The Monastry was breath-taking! Absolutely stunning - the intricate stone carving inside the Monastry is a marvel. I was there in January, and I went at opening time on a week day morning so it was relatively quiet compared to peak season. However, with my prepaid ticket I was able to walk straight in without any queueing. Excellent :)

The monastery is sumptuous. What I didn't like was buying my ticket on your site and having to queue much longer than those who bought their ticket on the spot. I guess you favor them because we're captives with our tickets already bought 😉. I confess I've never encountered this situation. Too bad

It's beautiful and I know you can do a audio guide but would have have loved to have some descriptions or an overview of the monastary. Just my two cents otherwise beautiful!

The cloister is splendid, but the visit is limited to that. When we saw the outside of the monastery, we thought the whole building could be visited, but the tour is limited to this area, which is very limited indeed. Also, the queue is very poorly signposted. We were looking for a separate queue as we had booked our tickets in advance, but we had to queue like everyone else. Then, as we moved along, we saw another queue marked "entrance for groups", so we quickly took that queue. However, it should have read "people accompanied by a GUIDE"! Unkindly, a gentleman told us we had to leave the queue. Fortunately, however, a very nice person passed us by and we didn't have to get back in the endless queue.

Belém Tower

The Tower consists of 4 stories: the Governor's Room, Kings' Room, the Audience Room, and the vaulted chapel. Dive right into exploring this UNESCO Heritage-listed monument and its historic role. Learn about how it protected the city as part of a tripartite defense system and how this fell apart after the Spanish Occupation.

With its limestone foundation and traditional medieval architecture, the most noticeable elements are the twisted ropes that wind around the building – ending in elegant knots – armillary spheres, crosses of the Order of Christ, and other Gothic features. Belém Tower was built not only to protect the port of Lisbon but also the Jerónimos Monastery.

Jerónimos Monastery

With the 2nd half of your ticket, soak up the different elements that make up this stunning model of Manueline architecture infusing Gothic, Moorish, and Renaissance styles. The two levels of cloisters are so intricate and filled with structural detail that they took a hundred years to be completed.

Spot mythical creatures like gargoyles and marine animals within the carvings, columns, and arches. Don’t miss the vaulted ceilings on the lower level of the monastery or the views from the higher level of the adjacent Church of Santa Maria de Belém.
