Your experience
Your experience
The Loire Valley Castles are ready for your exploration. With this saver combo offer get to visit the Royal Blois Castle and any 1 other castle from the Loire Valley among Chambord, Chenonceau, Chaumont sur-Loire, and Villandry.
Royal Blois Castle
See the Royal Blois Castle, which served as the mansion of multiple French kings in the past and is a remarkable example of French architecture from the 13th to the 17th centuries. With your priority admission tickets, you can enter the castle directly and avoid the lengthy ticket lineups.
As you go through the royal rooms, which were formerly home to seven monarchs and ten queens, you'll be transported back in time. Strolling around the 17 rooms, richly furnished with classic patterns, monograms, and candelabras, will disclose to you the dramatic past of the French court, with its secrets, power games, and intrigues. Explore the Fine Arts Museum, which is home to over 300 outstanding pieces of art, including pieces by renowned artists Francois Boucher, Peter Paul Rubens, and Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres.
Chambord and Chenonceau Castle
Situated within a vast 5,000-hectare park, the Chambord Castle boasts over 400 rooms, more than 80 staircases, 365 fireplaces, numerous towers, towering ceilings, and pointed domes. The well-known double helix staircase would be a key highlight of your trip here. The open staircase, which was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, is made so that you can ascend one side without running into or looking up at someone who is descending the other!
Chenonceau, also referred to as the “Ladies’ Château” due to the illustrious women who constructed, adorned, preserved, and looked after it over the ages, has an intriguing 13th-century regal past. As you go around the halls of the castles, which are opulently furnished with priceless tapestries, paintings, and furniture, you'll feel like a real royal. See the Chapel with its magnificent stained glass windows, the royal bedrooms, study, library, and kitchens, as well as the guard's chamber where men-at-arms were always on duty to defend the royal family.
Chaumont sur-Loire, and Villandry Castle
The Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire consists of the Domaine du Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle as well as the International Garden Festival. You will get the opportunity to view the exquisitely decorated rooms, the opulent spiral staircase, and a number of on-display artworks throughout your stay. The breathtaking view of the Loire from the terraces is the castle's most striking feature, though. The stables are another notable feature. At a time when not even the most magnificent castle had running water or electric lamps, Prince Amédée de Broglie is credited with modernizing it with both.
Discover the renowned Villandry Castle, a magnificent illustration of Renaissance design distinguished by its tasteful ornamentation, harmonious layout, and graceful proportions. The castle's layout is quadrangular, with four wings around the central keep. Explore the main hall first; it used to be a stately venue where kings and queens would gather for receptions. Investigate the castle's private rooms, which include the bedrooms of previous royal occupants.
The traditional French style of design divides the gardens into multiple areas. Succumb to the charms of the Ornamental Garden, which is well-known for its intricate patterns and accuracy. Then get ready to be astounded by the Vegetable Garden's utilitarian beauty, which is a living example of French gardening heritage. Don't miss the opportunity to stroll around the Rose Garden, where vivid blooms emit a delightful scent if you're the romantic type.
