Following its critically acclaimed sold-out debut at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, Richard Gadd’s chilling personal account of obsession and delusion is headed to London’s Ambassadors Theatre this April!
Why You Should Watch Baby Reindeer
Why You Should Watch Baby Reindeer
Baby Reindeer is an autobiographical story centered around the protagonist (Richard Gadd himself) and a woman named Martha, who is represented by a bar-stool. Six years ago, when Gadd took pity on a lonely woman and flirted with her in a bar, it was impossible for him to foresee the horrors to come. At first, Gadd finds himself flattered by Martha’s ravenous attraction to him, but with every wrong decision, his life spirals terrifyingly out of control. Through a series of disturbing voicemail messages and emails, he recounts how his life was almost completely torn apart by a woman who was obsessed with him.
Written by 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning playwright Richard Gadd and directed by Olivier Award-winning director Jon Brittain, Baby Reindeer was amongst the most successful plays at the recent Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show went on to win the Scotsman Fringe First Award and a Stage Award for Acting Excellence. Baby Reindeer also bagged a nomination for an Off West End Theatre Award for Best Performer.
