Why Watch Myra's Story
Myra's Story, a moving piece that was a huge success in Ireland and at the Edinburgh Fringe, follows a homeless lady on the streets of Dublin. Myra's Story is a must-see drama that takes viewers on an incredible emotional whirlwind ride and is full of heart and laughter. The play, written by renowned Irish playwright Brian Foster (The Trophy Collector, The Most Haunted House in Derry), is based on his earlier acclaimed piece, Maire: A Woman of Derry.
The script for this show was created by Brian Foster in 2002 and has already enjoyed successful runs at the Fringe in 2019 and 2021. Myra, the protagonist and an alcoholic who lives on the streets of Dublin, walks us through the sequence of incidents that brought her to the bench where we first encounter her. It stars the versatile Fionna Hewitt Twamley (Cardboard Gangster) as the eponymous Myra, who is a Dubliner herself.
