The Story
Rose and Harry move into the newly-made Park Hill estates in the late 1960s, with Harry joining the workforce of the Steel City. In 1989, Joy moves into the estates with her aunt, both fleeing from the civil war in Liberia. In present times, Poppy, a posh Londoner, moves into the iconic building, the largest Grade II listed building in Europe. Their lives are separated by time but the musical explores how they are connected by space — the living, breathing community of this Sheffield neighbourhood. Join them as their stories unfold in the backdrop of political upheaval, economic meltdown, forced gentrification, class disputes and more. Standing at the Sky’s Edge's London production will take your breath away.
