The 3 Wonders of St. Mark's Square
The Museo Correr, the Archeological Museum, and the Biblioteca Marciana stand as 3 pillars of Venice's rich historical past. The imposing building of Museo Correr houses some exquisite pieces of art such as the marble sculptures of Daedalus and Icarus by Antonio Canova and Venetian paintings from the 16th century. At the Archaeological Museum, find yourself amidst artifacts from ancient Greece and Rome and collections from the Byzantine era.
Ancient Manuscripts Preserved with Care
The Marciana Library is the apex of preserving educational gems, with 1 million volumes and 13,000 manuscripts under its wing. As you walk in, you'll be greeted by ornate ceilings adorned with artwork by Titian, Salviati, and Battista. The extensive collection focuses on Greek culture and the history of Venice. The Byzantium literature, after the fall of Constantinople, has also been preserved in this library.
The Seat of Supreme Power in Venice
Doge's Palace is the center of political and administrative power for the Venice Republic. With its lavish rooms, grand staircases, and Renaissance masterpieces, the palace offers a glimpse into the affluent history of ancient Venice.
