Journey to three of Mexico’s most important cultural sites on this full-day tour. With the company of an expert local guide, get a closer look at the fascinating history and folklore associated with these places. Your first stop is Tlatelolco, the biggest archaeological site in Mexico City, which was a part of the capital of the Aztec empire. Home to the biggest market of that empire, it was also the place where the conquest of the Aztecs took place. Right here stands the Square of the Three Cultures, where you will see buildings from three periods of Mexican history: pre-Columbian, Spanish colonial, and the independent nation.
Your next stop is the Basilica of Guadalupe, famously known as “La Villa,” the most important religious building in Mexico, and one of the most visited places in the catholic world. This is where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. It is most famous for the cloak with the image of the Lady Virgin. Follow this visit up with a tequila and mezcal tasting session. Later, continue onwards to Teotihuacan, the “City of Gods.” Your expert guide will take you on a journey across the history of this mystic place. Teotihuacan is home to some of the largest ancient pyramids in the world. Legend has it that it was here that the gods gathered to plan the creation of man!
