Montjuïc Cable Car
The cable car ride takes 5-10 minutes one way, traveling 750 meters between Parc de Montjuïc and Montjuïc Castle. Each cabin holds up to 8 people and offers panoramic views through large glass panels. During the journey, you'll see Barcelona Port, Sagrada Família, Tibidabo Mountain, Miramar Gardens, and the city skyline. The cable car makes three stops: Parc de Montjuïc (the starting point), Mirador stop, and Castell stop.
The castle and surroundings
Montjuïc Castle, built in 1640, sits 173 meters above sea level and served as a military fortress before becoming a municipal museum in 2007. The castle area features several gardens including Mossèn Costa i Llobera Gardens (known for its cacti collection), Miramar Gardens (with terraced viewpoints), and Joan Brossa Gardens. Near the Parc de Montjuïc station, visitors can access major attractions like the National Art Museum of Catalonia, Fundació Miró, and the 1992 Olympic Ring site.
