Take a scenic 5-10 minute cable car ride above Barcelona to reach the historic Montjuïc Castle. Ride back with an optional stop at Mirador de l'Alcalde.
- Enjoy a quick, super-scenic ride from Parc de Montjuïc to Castell de Montjuïc and back on this roughly 5-to-10-minute round-trip cable car ride.
The ride is scenic. On the way, you can glimpse the iconic Basilica of Sagrada Familia, the busy Barcelona Port, and the storybook Tibidabo Mountain.
-
Opt to hop down at Mirador de l'Alcalde and explore Joan Brossa Gardens. See one of Europe's largest collections of cacti at Mossèn Costa I Llobera Gardens.
-
There's plenty to do at Parc de Montjuïc, including visiting the National Art Museum of Catalonia and the site of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
-
Fun fact: The castle was accessible only by a steep climb or the Montjuïc al Castell funicular railway (1928-1963) before the cable car system existed.

We were lucky, because within 10 minutes from our arrival at the castle, a heavy fog came down to the Montjuic. We could see the beautiful panorama of the city.John
