Begin your journey to Mount Kinabalu

Embark on a thrilling 2-day, 1-night journey to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Borneo. The first leg of your climb starts at the Timpohon Gate and takes about 4-5 hours.

Enjoy the sunrise from the summit

Have dinner and stay overnight at the Laban Rata Rest House at 3,272 m, offering stunning mountain views. The next day, embark on a challenging hike to the summit, where you may witness the glorious sunrise if the weather permits. You will rejoice in your accomplishment upon reaching the peak and take advantage of the pre-dawn chill to capture stunning reflection photos in a nearby water pond. Make sure to keep yourself warm in the cold mountain air.

Collect your certificate and return with memories

After descending to Panalaban Base Camp for breakfast, trek to the Timpohon Gate. The park’s shuttle takes you to the Kinabalu Park headquarters, where you collect your certificates and enjoy lunch at the Liwagu Restaurant.

Important Information

  • Carry sturdy trekking or running shoes, warm clothing (long-sleeved shirt or hiking pants), a jacket, gloves, a winter hat, and a windbreaker.

  • Tissue paper, toilet paper, sunscreen lotion, lip gloss, plasters, insect repellent, mosquito oil, a camera in a waterproof bag, sandals, slippers, and plastic bags are all recommended.

  • Accommodation in Laban Rata will be in a mixed-gender shared dormitory.

  • Children under 16 require a personal mountain guide at RM230 per guide, with a maximum of one guide for every two children.

  • This tour is recommended for children above the age of 5.

  • Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

  • Please display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID during the pick-up.
