Way too expensive just to visit the monastery Apart from the beauty of the building, there's nothing to look at, no works of art or anything else, and the monastery is so small that the price is unjustified.

The Lisboa card was great for most attractions and transportation insided Lisboa as well as using the bus and metro. Only issue I faced was that it was not valid for the Sintra Pena palace, Moorish castle and Sintra Royal palace other attactions in Sintra, but was given a small discount.

I wish it was explained before that we would need to pickup our card at a certain location, they made it seem like we would just have them on the app. Also I would have liked a map that showed where the museums and sites were located and what buses were available to get to them. Navigating became difficult and we were not able to get the most out of the card. Almost doesn't seem worth it, especially since as a family we could have gotten discounts at most sites without the Lisboa card

These tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Why visit the National Museum of Contemporary Art?

The National Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 1911 and originally operated out of the monastery of São Francisco da Cidade, a building complex badly devastated in the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Contemporary art from Portugal and throughout the world can be found in this museum, which also has pieces by Rodin, Abel Manta, Adriano Sousa Lopes, and other masters. The MNAC is a must-visit for art lovers and scholars interested in Portuguese romantic, naturalist, modern, and contemporary art from the second half of the 19th century to the present day.
