Why Watch Annie
Why Watch Annie
Born out of an innocent daily comic strip ‘Little Orphan Annie’ by Harold Gray, this path-breaking musical has enthralled theatergoers for over four decades. Watch the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) Whoopi Goldberg will perform as Miss Hannigan December 11 - January 5 (with the exception of December 12) in the heartwarming tale of hope.
Directed by a member of the original Broadway musical’s cast, Jenn Thompson, the musical features an exceptional soundtrack with widely admired hits such as Its the Hard Knock Life and Tomorrow. With an incredible force of talent behind the scenes, Broadway legends Thomas Meehan, Martin Charnin, and Charles Strouse are bringing this revival to shake up the New York stage for a limited run. Catch the soul-stirring story of a young girl full of joy with tickets to Annie - the musical on Broadway today!
The Story
New York in 1933 is a world of stark contrasts - while some swim in a wealth of fortune, others struggle to escape the shadows of poverty. But despite the darkness that surrounds her, little Annie is a beacon of resilience. An orphan with nothing but a locket to remember the family she once had, she refuses to be extinguished. When her path crosses with Oliver Warbucks, a billionaire who opens up his heart and home to welcome her, she discovers the real connections that make a family.
