Beautiful Palace and grounds. It would be much easier if each location had a number on it that matched video guide and more signage. We exited grounds before we even found cafe which was unfortunate as you cannot re-enter.

The palace itself is stunning, with intricate architecture and decor, but it’s the grounds that truly steal the show— just beautiful around every corner.

  • Take a tour of two iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Portugal with a single combo ticket. The audio guide adds to the experience for those who want to diver deeper into their histories.

    National Palace of Sintra

One of the most important residences of the Portuguese royal family between the 15th and 19th centuries, the National Palace of Sintra is a mix of architectural styles that blend seamlessly. The adjoined conical towers are the very first part of the palace you’ll see. On the inside, you’ll find several visually ornate rooms, including the Swan Room, the Pagoda Room, and the Julius Ceasar Room.

The icing on the cake is the use of Mudejar tiles across the palace, and it features the largest set you’ll find anywhere in Portugal.

    Quinta da Regaleira

Designed by the Italian architect Luigi Manini, the Quinta da Regaleira is one of the key attractions in the town of Sintra. Characterized by Gothic gargoyles, pinnacles, and the famous octagonal tower, its facade is a work of art. The gardens also house an extensive maze of tunnels and an initiation well, a 98-foot tower with a spiral staircase leading down 9 levels.

Take a closer look at the structure, and you’ll realize that there are plenty of Freemason and Templar symbols incorporated into elements like the stained glass, the gatehouse, and the gargoyles.
