Explore the Gothic Toledo
Toledo, a medieval city shaped by Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, features significant cultural landmarks such as the Museum of Santa Cruz and the Puerta del Sol. Governance shifted from the Holy Roman Empire to Visigothic, Arab, and finally Christian rule. From Madrid, a bus ride takes you into Toledo’s maze of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, including Alcazar. Start with a panoramic view from Mirador del Valle, explore the ancient Jewish quarter, and visit a traditional Damascene workshop where movie swords for "The Lord of the Rings" and "Game of Thrones" are made.
Dive into the Past in Segovia
You will then travel to the city of Segovia. Learn more about the 2000-year-old Roman Aqueduct as you begin your guided tour of the city. Visit the Segovia Cathedral, a Gothic-style cathedral in the Plaza Mayor that was built in the mid-sixteenth century. The Vitraux of the Virgin Mary located inside the cathedral is a glorious sight. Before you head back to Madrid, you will see the Alcazar of Segovia, one of Spain's most famous castles from the 12th century. The Herrera courtyard which consists of a moat, a keep, and a drawbridge is very interestingly designed. After an informative and engaging 11-hour tour, you will return to Madrid in your comfortable bus.
