This experience was a highlight of our trip. Annette was an excellent tour guide and the scenery, palace and castles were magical - a must see!

Our tour of Neuschwanstein was excellent! Cansel, our tour guide, was a wealth of information, and very sweet. She really made the trip fantastic, and Tony, our bus driver, gave us a super smooth ride. We did notice some negative comments here that we feel require rebuttal. We saw someone complain that they paid more than some other people on the bus, and another complaint that the castle tour was not included in their ticket. We found it very clear that pricing was à la carte, with different available levels. We chose the bus transportation with skip the line tickets to both Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castles, but did not select the highest level that included drinks and snacks. So we were not the least bit bothered by the fact that people who did pay extra got food and drink, and we didn't, because we didn't pay for it (we did opt to pay for drinks on the bus, as they were available for purchase). Cansel could clearly see on our reservation that our tickets to both castles were included, and she provided them with no problem. Other people who were with us who had chosen not to buy those tickets in advance were able to pay on the bus. We see no problem with this, it was all very transparent, clear, and upfront. People complaining that they got less or paid more than someone else clearly didn't understand the booking process. We have zero complaint about how everything was handled, and had an amazing 10-hour tour that we will never forget.

I loved the castle and all it entailed. The audio guide was great but i would have loved a little more time in each of the areas to take it all in.

The ticket instructions said to be at the court years 25 minutes prior to the assigned time. However, it was not made clear that it could take 30-45 minutes to get from the parking lots to the court yard. I parked in the lower lot 30 minutes prior to my ticket time and still arrived in the courtyard 10 minutes after my assigned ticket time. The instructions should indicate the approximate time to walk from parking to the bus, plus allow 15-30 minutes for the bus to get up the hill and another 10 minute walk from the bus stop to the court yard. The ticket counter was very strict on arrival time and had to reprint new tickets for us 30 minutes after our original time slot

The guide Cansel and the driver made our trip an unforgettable experience. We learned many details of the Bavarian region that were not related to the castles, they even taught us some words in the Bavarian dialect. Highly recommended, not to be missed.

A fairytale castle

Located in the village of Schwangau, enter the wonderful Neuschwanstein Castle. Opened to the public in 1886, the Romanesque Revival-style structure is surrounded by a magical and fascinating ambiance with views of the lake, waterfall gorge, and the 19th-century Hohenschwangau Castle. You'll actually feel like you're walking inside a fairy tale dream! An audio guide available in 19 languages gives you a deeper insight into the castle and its history.

Built by Bavarian ruler, King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein Castle has a magnificent limestone facade and its interior is as beautiful as its outside with 14 rooms. The rooms were majestically decorated at Ludwig II’s sudden death in 1886. Make sure to visit the 2-story throne room which has a Byzantine-style design with wall paintings depicting angels.
