Historic enchantment meets modern innovation at Nijo-jo Castle
Journey through time as you revel in the blend of traditional charm and modern artistry at the NAKED Summer Festival 2024, held at Nijo-jo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Jul 26 to Aug 18, 2024, witness the rich history of the castle, constructed in 1603, and brought to life under the spectacle of contemporary digital art by renowned artists. Take a stroll through the intricate Karamon gate and witness the national treasure, Ninomaru Palace.
Kyoto's biggest fireworks fisplay & engaging activities
The vivacious festival atmosphere pulsates with life as it gets divided into 3 major areas. Feast on a variety of treats from food stalls and participate in archery, a local favorite activity, at the Hyper Ennichi area. As the sun sets, witness Kyoto's largest projection mapping fireworks display, viewable from the moat inside the castle. This display, set against the backdrop of a castle initially built in 1603 for Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period, beautifully blends history and modern technology, painting a vivid portrait of the festival's theme: a merger of the old and the new.
