The Grounds of Villa dei Vescovi
The villa, a part of the Italian National Trust, is a restored Renaissance-style holiday home built by nobleman Alvise Cornaro in the 16th century for the Bishop of Padova. The Villa dei Vescovi has remained remarkably intact up to the present day. It has preserved its time-honored relationship of harmonious correspondence with the surrounding countryside, a quality considered crucial by the artists who designed and built it.
What to Expect at the Villa
You can easily reach Villa dei Vescovi from Milan by car, train or bus for a day of relaxation with family and friends. As you approach the house, a series of vineyards give way to a lush green-walled garden. The loggias and interiors of the home are entirely covered in frescoes by the Flemish painter Lambert Sustris and reflect the beauty of the landscape. Take in the frescoes and artworks, choose to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine under the loggias, stroll through the vineyard, and relax in the large park.
The park provides ample space for children to run, hide, and play. Available at your own cost is a wine tasting opportunity, a café, and a shop with souvenirs and local products. You can also book a room in their stately guest rooms to spend a night here.
