Het museum zelf is een uitstekend voorbeeld van het Franse verlangen naar een modern zelfbeeld en tegelijkertijd het behoud en de overdracht van de Europese cultuur. Helaas is de overgang tussen de afzonderlijke zalen minder geslaagd. De navigatie moet worden verbeterd. We kwamen in de maand oktober en het was de perfecte timing voor een bezoek. Het was niet zo druk als in de zomermaanden. We konden dus rustig de tijd nemen om te snuffelen en ons gemakkelijker verplaatsen. Het was voor ons de eerste keer dat we vanuit de VS de vele werken van beroemde kunstenaars en historische voorwerpen zagen die we alleen in boeken, films of sociale media hadden gezien en het was geweldig. Het kwam allemaal tot leven en je kon de diepte en het gevoel zien dat elk stuk uniek weergaf. We hebben 5,5 uur doorgebracht met het bekijken van alle verdiepingen en populaire attracties.
