Rustige en ontspannen reis langs de kastelen en paleizen. Zeer beleefd en attent personeel dat ons tijdens de tocht voorzag van eten en drinken. We hebben twee heerlijke uren op de boot doorgebracht.

We hebben echt genoten van de tocht over de Rijn. Het enige is dat de serveerster me een ongemakkelijk gevoel gaf toen ik vroeg of ik met mijn creditcard kon betalen. Ze was er echt op gebrand dat ik contant zou betalen en ze gebruiken de creditcard optie alleen uit noodzaak. Ik verzamel punten dit had geen beproeving moeten zijn, wat ze er zeker van maakte! Daar ben ik niet van onder de indruk!

De boottocht was geweldig! We waren helemaal betoverd door het prachtige uitzicht. Ook de service liet niets te wensen over. Helaas werd onze trein geannuleerd en konden we er niet op tijd zijn, maar de organisator was ontzettend aardig en we mochten met de volgende boottocht mee. De dames die de drankjes brachten waren ook erg vriendelijk en snel ondanks de hitte. We kunnen deze ervaring alleen maar aan iedereen aanraden.

A riverbank lined with palaces

An unforgettable boat trip from Koblenz through the Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO Heritage site dotted with castles and forts as old as the 12th century, is an experience you should not miss! The first historical site on your tour is the Electoral Palace, once home to the last Archbishop of Trier and now an abode for government offices. The next palace you will see is the Lahneck Castle, an intimidating fortress built in 1226 to protect the territory at the mouth of river Lahn. Opposite it, you will see another structure standing tall – the Stolzenfels Castle, a fortress built to protect the toll station in Rhine. A historic wine village, St John’s Monastery built from the ruins of a Roman fort, and the historic and somber All Saints Chapel are also some sites you will pass through.

In a picturesque blend of history and nature, witness the merging of Germany’s most popular rivers – Rhine and Moselle – at the Deutsches Eck. The last two stops on your trip are the castles and Martinsburg and Marksburg. The Martinsburg Castle was built in the 13th century to protect the aristocracy of Mainz against its raging citizens. The castle at Marksburg is one of the few hill fortresses in the Rhine to have never been destroyed as was built in the 13th century to protect the neighboring silvermines.
