Guiden(e) og bussjåføren var alle fantastiske! Chambord var helt fantastisk, selv om selve slottet stort sett er tomt, med unntak av falske hjortehoder som representerer Frans I's historie og jaktferdigheter, moderne kunstinstallasjoner og en reproduksjon av teateret; det gjør at du kan fokusere på selve bygningen. Amboise var veldig kult, mye mindre og mer hjemmekoselig, med mer historiefortelling i utstillingene sammenlignet med Chambord, og noen eksepsjonelle utsikter over Loire; men byen er kanskje enda bedre enn slottet. Du kommer ikke til å kjede deg hvis du hopper over slottsturen. Personlig var Orléans den eneste delen jeg kunne ha klart meg uten. Besøket i Orléans fokuserte på to steder: katedralen og Jeanne d'Arcs "hjem". Selv om jeg synes budskapet med besøket var på sin plass, føltes det også overveldende og forhastet etter en så lang dag. Chenonceau Castle
A masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, Chenonceau is the second most-visited castle in France after Versailles, with an annual footfall of 1.3 million visitors. Pick up a multilingual visitor's guide and step inside to explore the Medici Gallery which spans the Cher River, the multitude unique collection of paintings, sculptures, and tapesteries, and the manicured gardens which have been maintained since the bygone years.
Chambord Castle
Built to serve as the king's hunting lodge, Chambord is the biggest castle in the Loire Valley—home to 400 rooms, 365 fireplaces, and da Vinci-inspired double helix staircase.
Amboise Castle
Built on a rocky spur overlooking the Loire River, this castle was a favored royal residence during the French Renaissance. Today, visitors go there not just for the panoramic views of the valley but also to pay homage to da Vinci's tomb which lies in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert.
Clos Luce Castle
Known for being the last residence of Leonardo da Vinci (1516-1519), who arrived at the castle on invitation from King Francis I, Clos Luce is a well-preserved example of Renaissance architecture. Visit to see and learn about da Vinci's many inventions, including flying machines, military equipment, and architectural designs.
Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the castle is most famous for the annual International Garden Festival (Apr-Nov) which sees 30 magnificent gardens created by teams of artists, architects, and designers. Additionally, there are contemporary art exhibitions too which draw a significant crowd.
