Vakker utstilling I tillegg til flyene og fergen er det mange fortellinger om krigsøyeblikk der Intrepid var til stede. Interessant er også alle seksjonene der de politiske og sosiale situasjonene under den kalde krigen og Vietnam-perioden fortelles.

Et museum til en rimelig pris hvor du kan tilbringe 90 minutter med å vandre rundt på et hangarskip fra 2. verdenskrig / Vietnam, forskjellige fly, den ikoniske Concorde og en ubåt. Ekstra opplevelse å snakke med tidligere ansatte som tjenestegjorde på skipet. Skam concorde guidet tur var ekstra kostnad. Alt i alt vil jeg anbefale hvis du har tid.

Det jeg elsket med min opplevelse på Intrepid-museet, var hvor stort Intrepid var. Det var utrolig hva det inneholdt av modeller. Flyene og helikoptrene var et under. Det som skilte seg ut for meg, var en sjømann som forklarte mye av hva skipet gjorde under krigen. Jeg likte virkelig det faktum at han hadde sitt bilde fra å være i krigen. Å finne ut at han bare var 19 år gammel da han startet, var helt utrolig. Å se Intrepid hjalp meg til å virkelig innse hva nasjonens menn kjempet for, slik at vi kunne være der vi er i dag. Jeg skulle gjerne hatt et foredrag om Intrepid og personellet som opererte det under krigen. Jeg var ikke klar over hvor liten den var på innsiden, siden jeg selv er en stor person. Det var litt vanskelig å manøvrere, men det er min feil. Jeg hadde tatt med meg barnebarnet mitt, som er innenfor autismespekteret. Han har en fantastisk evne til å lese, og han leste alle informasjonsskiltene for hvert av de modellerte flyene i helikoptrene. Han spurte meg om han kunne få sitte i dem, slik han gjorde på bilutstillingen. Han hadde det kjempegøy.

What's not allowed

Keep in mind that selfie sticks, tripods, and professional photography equipment are not allowed on this experience. Pack wisely!

Safety is a priority so access to the Growler is restricted for guests under the height of 1m (3.28ft).

Strollers, large bags, and backpacks are not permitted on the Growler.

Accessibility

This experience is mostly wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible. However, the submarine, gun tubs, anchor chain room, captain's bridge.

Trigger warning: Areas inside the Growler are narrow and may not be suitable for visitors with claustrophobia.

Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue.

The Space Shuttle Pavilion is closed until March 25 for the installation of a new exhibit, When We Went to the Moon. This exhibit opens March 25 and runs until September 2.
