The funicular ride is simply an experience you cannot miss out on when in the bustling city of Innsbruck. The Hungerburg funicular is a famous landmark in the city today, thanks to its state-of-the-art architecture. The 4 stations of the Hungerburg funicular are unique in style. In as little as 8 minutes, zoom from the city center to Hungerburg, where views over the city of Innsbruck will stun you. This ticket lets you ride all the way to the Hungerburg station, and back.
Lucky for you, that’s not all: you also get to visit the ever-wondrous Alpine Zoo! Located on the sunny slopes of the Hungerburg plateau, this zoo is a unique wildlife sanctuary devoted to protecting native Tyrolean wildlife. It is home to more than 2,000 animals ranging across 150 different Alpine species. Walk along a network of enclosed walkways that reveal animals like brown bears, ibex, wolves, and golden eagles. The freshwater aquarium is loaded with Alpine fish and the aviaries house over 60 different species of birds. Enjoy a show farm that boasts of sheep, goats, and Turopolje pigs (certainly enjoyable by the younglings!)
