It was all truly wonderful. Hemisferic was an exciting journey to the edge of the universe, and the oceanographic museum was marvelous. You can really feel the sea in all its forms, and it really drives home the ecological importance of acting in an environmentally responsible way for the sake of our seas and the living creatures that inhabit them.

I absolutely loved my time at the Oceanographic! The shark and ray tunnel is impressive, the penguins are so cute, and what can I say about the dolphin show! Just wow!

Last week

We had a great experience at the Oceanografic; the park is truly huge and well-maintained, but it’s a shame we visited during peak season when there were many summer camps, so we weren’t able to see the shows because the maximum capacity was reached right away. Another downside was the food—we went to the self-service area, but there were only a few horrible and extremely overpriced dishes. The water dispenser was always out of order, so water was only available at the bars at triple the price. At the Hemisferic, the experience was good, but the air conditioning in the auditorium was so strong it made you feel sick; it felt like a freezer, and since you have to lie down to watch the show, it would be advisable to prohibit people from taking off their shoes—it’s not very pleasant to watch the show with smelly feet in the face of the person behind you. Another thing: you can’t hear the show in Italian—only in Valencian, French, Spanish, and English.

An incredible journey beneath the sea! The best in Europe If you visit Valencia, the Oceanogràfic is an absolute must-see. It’s the largest aquarium in Europe, and you’ll understand why from the moment you step inside: the facility is immense, spotlessly clean, and set within the futuristic setting of the City of Arts and Sciences. The highlights that left me speechless: The shark tunnel: Walking 70 meters with enormous sharks and stingrays swimming right above your head is an indescribable thrill. You truly feel like you’re part of the ocean. The beautiful belugas: Seeing these magnificent white mammals up close in the Arctic zone is a rare and thrilling experience. The layout: The aquarium is largely open-air, divided into pavilions that recreate the world’s various ecosystems. There’s never that “closed-in” or stifling feeling typical of other facilities.

It was incredibly crowded, partly because of the schoolchildren, who were making a lot of noise and having more fun with each other than actually enjoying the museum. I also found the signage to be rather confusing. We couldn’t find the corridor where you could walk underneath the swimming sharks.
