Definitely worth its money . Went up tutensukaku tower . Obs deck , and halter skelter fast slide , also could have done a free short bunker jump off side with free ticket which wasn't expected. Then we did the Hep 5 ferris wheel after visiting the Umeda tower observation deck. Umeda tower alone is about £10 to go up . This ticket worked out about £16 to buy. Then all the metro rides we had that day were included . We wanted to do the dotonbori short river cruise but missed it as we didn't get there before 9pm closing . Well worth the money . Although getting the pass up on my phone was quite confusing at first we eventually got the hang of it , you need to get the qr code downloaded every time . Just make sure you screenshot the oases easy for using on metro to get in and out .

We used Osaka One day pass and the experience is really good. From the list of recommended attractions, we were able to make the short list that all family meme bets enjoy. We like Osaka Castle. The One day pass ticket gave priority entry that we could bypass the long queue at the admission entrance. The other places in the list are really good. Highly recommended for first time visitors.

Why you should pick the Osaka Amazing Pass over other Osaka city passes

All-in-one transport + attractions coverage
Unlike admission-only passes like the Osaka e-Pass, Osaka Amazing Pass combines unlimited Osaka Metro/bus/private rail rides with free entry to dozens of attractions, simplifying both budgeting and daily logistics.

Proven, widely used option you can trust

Promoted by the official Osaka tourism board, this pass has a strong track record with international visitors seeking a reliable city card.

Big savings for active sightseers

Hit just three major inclusions—such as Osaka Castle Museum, an observation deck, and a river cruise—and you typically surpass the pass price, turning every additional stop into pure savings.

Tailored to different traveler styles

Time-poor day-trippers, weekend city explorers, and budget-conscious solo travelers can choose 1‑day or 2‑day versions, matching their sightseeing pace better than one-speed regional or transport-only passes.

What does the Osaka Amazing Pass include?

  • Osaka Castle Museum – Explore the main keep’s exhibits and panoramic top-floor terrace overlooking Osaka Castle Park and the city skyline. (Included with 1-Day & 2-Day Pass)

  • Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory – Visit the open-air rooftop ring for 360-degree views across central Osaka and surrounding mountains. (Included with 1-Day & 2-Day Pass)

  • Tsutenkaku Tower – Ascend this Shinsekai landmark’s observation decks and see neighborhood views plus exhibits about the tower’s history. (Included with 1-Day & 2-Day Pass)

Which Osaka Amazing Pass is right for you?

If you want to see as much as possible in one day…

Choose the 1-Day Osaka Amazing Pass by Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau if you have a single full day in Osaka and want a fast-paced highlights tour.

It’s a day-based pass (calendar day) giving unlimited Osaka Metro, selected private rail, and city buses plus one-time free entry to many attractions such as Osaka Castle Museum, Umeda Sky Building observatory, and river cruises.

Hit 3–5 included sights and several train rides to unlock strong savings versus buying separate tickets.

If you prefer to move slower or are starting after lunch, you may not reach enough attractions for the 1-Day pass to pay off. In that case, consider paying per attraction and using an IC card for transport.

To use the 1-Day Osaka Amazing Pass, activate it on your phone or tap in at a gate, then show the QR or card at each attraction’s pass counter for free entry.

If you want to spread sightseeing over a weekend…

Pick the 2-Day Osaka Amazing Pass if you’re staying at least two full days in Osaka and want to split areas, for example Umeda and the bay area on one day, Namba, Dotonbori, and Tennoji on the other.

This day-based pass covers the same unlimited transport and attraction entries as the 1-day, but over two consecutive calendar days. Used actively, many travelers reach 7–10 attractions and report notable total savings.

Compared with buying two separate 1-day passes or individual tickets, the 2-Day version usually offers better per-day value and less pressure to rush. It suits couples or solo travelers who enjoy steady but not frantic sightseeing.

Activate once on day one, then simply keep scanning your Osaka Amazing Pass at metro gates and attraction counters across both days.

Your savings with the Osaka Amazing Pass

Attraction-based pass (5 top attractions)

1-day route with five top attractions demonstrating significant savings. The pass cuts costs by roughly half.

Day-based pass (1 intensive day)

High-value single-day plan combining marquee sights and extra rides. Savings are around 46% compared with separate purchases.

Tips to use your Osaka Amazing Pass smartly

  • Activate your pass with your first metro ride around 8–9am so the calendar-day validity covers a full sightseeing day.

  • Prioritize capacity-limited rides: exchange your pass for Tombori River Cruise or Osaka-jo Gozabune boat tickets by late morning for evening slots.

  • Visit Umeda Sky Building in early afternoon; pass validity there typically ends mid-afternoon even though the observatory stays open into the evening.

  • Cluster sights by area—Umeda/Nakanoshima in one block, Namba/Shinsekai/Tennoji in another—to minimize transit time and squeeze in extra attractions.

  • For the 2-day pass, spread big-ticket spots across both days and mix in smaller museums or ferris wheels when you find yourself nearby.

  • Families often skip passes for small children: many younger kids get discounted or free entry, so buying adult-priced passes may not add value.

  • Use the official Osaka Amazing Pass app or Surutto app to store your QR code and check the latest attraction list before heading out.

  • Keep a power bank handy; the digital-only pass must be shown live in the app, and screenshots or printed copies may not be accepted.

  • Check each attraction’s page in the app or official site for fixed closure days and last-entry times, especially for boats and observatories.

  • Aim for three to five substantial attractions per full day; treat any extra stops as a bonus rather than overpacking your schedule to “break even.”

  • For time-sensitive cruises, arrive at the dock early to secure a boarding ticket, then explore nearby streets or viewpoints while you wait.

  • Before traveling, review the official Osaka Amazing Pass guide or in-app instructions for current usage rules, coverage map, and reservation requirements.

How to book & use the Osaka Amazing Pass

Step 1: Select your pass

Choose a 1-day or 2-day digital pass based on how many full sightseeing days you have in Osaka.

Step 2: Book the pass online

Purchase through the official Osaka Amazing Pass booking page or approved resellers using card, PayPal, or local payment options.

Step 3: Receive confirmation

Check your email confirmation for your digital pass details, QR code, and any specific usage instructions.

Step 4: Activate your pass in the app

Download the official Osaka Amazing Pass app, log in or register, then add and activate your pass following the in-app prompts.

Step 5: Start heading out

From activation, use your digital pass to enter included transport and attractions by scanning your QR code as instructed.

Frequently asked questions about Osaka Amazing Pass

  • It’s usually worthwhile if you’ll visit at least two or three included attractions and ride Osaka Metro or private lines several times in one day. Add up normal ticket prices plus transport; if that total exceeds the pass price, you’re gaining value.
