Easy to buy the tickets and had a wonderful guide in the museum. She was very nice and answered all our questions. But there was a big hassle to get in. Not sure what happened, but something to do with paper entrance tickets, of which there were not enough with our group. Apart from that, great experience!

Although SCHINDLER himself was barely mentioned, I was interested to hear about the Nazi occupation of Krakow, and in particular the fate of the Jews and the Polish population. So I learned a lot, which I still regard favorably. The downside was the overcrowding during the visit. I missed a lot of the explanations, distracted by crossing groups, other h-guides' comments in other languages, and ambient noise. What's more, our guide's explanations were given through earphones and an external amplifier. This created a resonance effect that made hearing difficult. Finally, waiting outside for the tour to start (slightly late) is not very pleasant in cold weather.

The only thing we didn't like is that they have guides available in all languages and in Spanish there were none available....

We had the most incredible tour! Our guide, Magda, was informative, kind, and interesting. This was one of the best tours I have EVER had. Very impactful experience!

Visiting the atrocities of the Holocaust

When Steven Spielberg made 'Schindler’s List' in 1993, he put a spotlight on the life and achievements of Oskar Schindler, the German entrepreneur whose selfless acts of sacrifice and humanity saved hundreds of the city’s inhabitants from the gas chambers. Today, you can visit the now world-famous factory where the wartime events of the film took place and learn more about the Holocaust and the many hundreds of people Schindler saved. ### Knowing the Nazis The factory was opened to visitors in 2010, after being turned into a museum that showcases life under Nazi occupation in Krakow. For instance, you can see the “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945” exhibit, which constitutes a chronological eyewitness report from the Second World War, or experience war-torn Krakow from the window of a tram, or wander through the dense labyrinth of a reconstructed Jewish ghetto.

The exhibits have been meticulously crafted to recreate the city space from that era, employing photographs, films, and items from Nazi-occupied Krakow. While you take in the many exhibits, your guide will tell you more about the lives of the inhabitants of this city, the Holocaust, and Oskar Schindler’s heroic contribution to humanity, with the help of facts and anecdotes. Visiting the painstakingly reconstructed factory is a truly eye-opening experience, leaving you with the vivid and haunting memory of the many heroes, survivors, and victims of the Nazi occupation of Krakow.
