Please ensure that you carry a physical Japanese driver's license, International Driving Permit, SOFA License for US Forces Japan, or your own driver's license with an official Japanese translation of the license if you are from Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, Slovenia, Monaco.

This activity requires a hard copy of your international driving permit issued by the local authority of your country such as AAA,CAA OR AA, and another valid driving license in Japan (such as a Local license (Japan) or SOFA license).

Foreign international driving permit Hardcopy issued by the local authority of each country will be only allowed to drive on streets of Tokyo.

A license issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, Estonia or Monaco and many more with Japanese translation by the authorized organization is allowed to drive in Japan. Some of the countries like Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive in Japan.

To drive in Japan, an International driving permit should be under the 1949 convention to legally drive on the streets of Japan.
