Our guide Elber was terrific! He was caring and accommodating to our group and explained both sites that we visited in great detail without overdoing it. He was understanding for those of us who wanted to rest at certain intervals, and took care of each member of the group well. He was very personable, and we all enjoyed him very much!

The views from the top of the monument were as good as you could get, we could see so much. There was no queuing and not a lot of stairs to climb. . You can stays as long as you want to and wasn't crowded at the top. A visit we felt was one of our highlight

Experience itself is very much underrated due to amazing view and ticketing as well - especially liked the Gpay connection.

Marvel at the Monument's Architecture

As you view the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, also known as the Monument of Discoveries, be amazed by its intricate carvings and facade with a concrete base that rises high into the sky! At the front of the monument stands a tall statue of Henry the Navigator, followed by other notable figures from the period, arranged in a triangular pattern that represents the sails of a ship voyaging into the unknown.

Explore the Museum Inside the Complex

During your visit to the museum, you will be able to view exhibitions on the 2nd floor. The exhibitions journal the history of the Portuguese empire during its heyday, such as the ‘Vision of the Empire’, a collection of images that depict the role played by photography in the development of modern Portuguese colonialism.

Next Up – Documentary Viewing & Viewpoint Climb!

Watch an engaging documentary that entails the history of this landmark and the country itself. Continuing onwards, ascend to the viewpoint of the monument via an elevator. As you reach the top floor, revel in the panoramic views of the serene Tagus River.
