We had booked the tickets online before our vacation. Everything went smoothly at the entrance to the catacombs. We were super happy! The catacombs are well worth seeing and there is enough space inside, although I suffer from claustrophobia.

The venue will not accept the ticket from Headout...had to call Headout and wait for a long time for an agent to finally answer then explain the situation multiple times before he sent us the PDF tickets...made the situation very stressful!

Paris' Catacombs

Climb down 20 meters below the ground using 130 steps to visit the 2-kilometer-long tunnel arranged in a maze. What makes it unique? The catacombs are the final resting place of millions of Parisians. Venture through the tunnels and learn about the incredible history behind the ossuary and its architecture. The audio guide accompanying you will take you through the journey sharing the story behind why and how it all came to be and explaining what you are seeing.

Montparnasse walking tour

Start your journey on foot, at Boulevard du Montparnasse, the hub of artistic souls in the early 20th century and a charming Parisian neighborhood rich in history. Explore the popular places frequented by Jean Cocteau, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway during their time here and get to know fascinating facts from your guide. Rue Delambre is the next stop on your journey. The place has yet again a rich history and the famous Auberge de Venise or the Dingo bar which happened to be the spot you would want to visit if you were an American writer from the ‘Lost Generation. This is in fact the place where Ernest Hemingway met Scott Fitzgerald.

Next up is Place de Josephine Baker where you can learn about the incredible life and work of the first African-American woman to star in a motion picture. See The Sphinx or Le Sphinx which used to be a functional brothel during the 1930s and 40s, preferred by the rich masses. Proceed to The Monocle, the Parisian Lesbian nightclub. It is the symbol of changing times and social acceptance along with reinstating Paris as the romantic city it is. The last stop away from the romantic aura of the city lies Montparnasse Cemetery where the popular men and women from history rest in peace. Some of the graves you can pay a visit to include Charles Baudelaire, Guy de Maupassant, Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Charles Garnier.
