Get up close and personal with Australian wildlife as you enjoy a full-day guided tour of Philip Island where you not only witness the wildlife in their natural habitat but also learn about their life cycles.

  • Head over to the Nobbies, on the Western end of Phillip island where the rock formations create a dome shape.

  • Get to visit the penguins as they make their way back from fishing and learn about their life cycle and the initiatives put in place to protect them at Parade Visitors Center.

  • Finally, head down to the beach to watch the penguins tackle the waves before returning to their nests.

  • Subject to the season, you may have time for dinner (at your own expense) at the Phillip Island Nature Park Visitor Centre before heading back to Melbourne.

  • Upgrade your ticket to the Viewing Platform option for a better view of the penguins along with view interpretations from the ranger.

  • Selecting the Underground Viewing Area option will give you an eye-level view of the penguins from an undercover position so that you can watch them be their most authentic versions.

On this full-day guided tour, get to experience the wildlife of Phillip island in the most comfortable fashion. Starting with a ride on an air-conditioned coach toward Phillip island from Melbourne, marvel at the exquisite scenery on your way. To kick-start your day, the first stop on your itinerary is the Koala Conservation Reserve where you will get to see the koalas up close from the boardwalks on the treetops along with an experienced park ranger to guide you. The next stop would be the Nobbies, the home of one of the largest fur seal colonies in Australia.

Now, for the main attraction of your tour, get to see the little penguins as they make their way back to their dune burrows after a fishing expedition. The Phillip Island Parade Visitors Centre is where you will be introduced to the interesting life cycle of penguins and also learn about various initiates that help protect them. As the sun starts to retire, head down to the beach and watch the penguins brave the waves before returning home to their nests.

If the season permits, you could also enjoy a lovely dinner (at your own expense) before making the trip back to Melbourne. Do be sure to browse through the upgrade options should you like to upgrade your experience.

  • Warm waterproof clothing is recommended for the Penguin Parade.

  • It is advisable to wear long pants and a warm jacket.
