Palazzo Madama Museum
In the heart of Turin lies the world-renowned Palazzo Madama Museum of Ancient Art. Spread across 4 floors, the museum houses over 70,000 artworks ranging from the medieval era to the late 18th century. Get ready to experience over 10 centuries of Italian and European art.
Start your journey through time from the basement as you admire the stone sculptures and jewelry from the medieval stonework collection. On the ground floor, learn about the 15th-century castle and the art of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Make your way to the first floor as you immerse yourself in the lavishly decorated rooms displaying 17th and 18th-century artwork. Last but not least, visit the second floor which displays ivories, fabrics, ceramics, jewelry, glasswork, and more from around the world.
If you are an art enthusiast, you can dig deeper into the artworks by taking on a guided tour. A self-guided tour is also possible as there are detailed guides to the artworks and multimedia workstations present throughout the museum.
