Why Watch The Nanta Show
Why Watch The Nanta Show
Originating from Korea, the Nanta Show is a nonverbal Samul nori performance. Samul nori literally translates to “four object play” owing to the fact that it is performed with 4 traditional Korean instruments. All four are percussion instruments and includes two gongs, one small and one large, a drum in the shape of an hourglass, and a barrel drum.
The Nanta Show was first performed at the 1997 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it received an award for the Best Performance. Since then, the Nanta Show has traveled across the world to display their incredible musical prowess combined with comedy and drama. They went on to be featured at Broadway in 2004, which opened several new doors. More than 750,000 foreign tourists in Korea enjoy Nanta every year, and it is a must see for anyone visiting Korea. While traditional nonverbal performances can easily bore the audience, Nanta combines a storyline with the music, and the comedy is guaranteed to keep the audience at the edge of their seats! Do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity of seeing the renowned Nanta Show in Bangkok!
