This is definately my highlights of Tokyo. What an experience in the streets of Japan, driving a go kart! ...dressed in costume! This tour was amazing. All the information was mentioned - location, timings, pricing, documentation, etc. The staff - Julian and Khan were incredible. I didn't realize that photos were included, which was a pleasant surprise.

Here, after a brief safety rundown, you'll get to pick out and wear your favorite anime or video game character's costume. Feel the rush as you ride past the historic Tokyo Station with its iconic red-brick facade, the upscale boulevards of Ginza, and the otaku paradise of Akihabara itself. Solo adventurers or groups, this fun ride is for everyone. Just bring your international driving permit and passport.

Diverse scenes of Tokyo with an experienced guide

As you dart through Tokyo's streets, a skilled guide will provide insights into the city's rich history and culture. Starting at the Akihabara shop, ride past Tokyo Station — a testament to resilience, having withstood both the Great Kanto Earthquake and World War II bombings. The next stop is Ginza — Tokyo's luxury shopping district is renowned for its high-end boutiques and vibrant entertainment scene, with attractions like the Imperial Palace. Immerse yourself in the heart of Akihabara, a mecca for otaku culture, home to numerous anime and manga shops along with high-end tech stores.

Know before you go

What's not allowed

Licenses issued from countries that are not under the 1949 Geneva Convention (such as China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Qatar) will not be allowed to drive in Japan.
Guests aged 17 and under are restricted from participating in this experience.
The experience is not accessible for pregnant women and people with back and neck problems.
Note that the following are not allowed on this tour: flip-flops, sandals, and high heels.

Additional information

Participants will need an International driving permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention to drive in Japan.
For Australian driver's license holders, you need to obtain an International Driving Permit from either AAA, NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC, RACT or AANT before you leave Australia. Any other permits issued by other unauthorized associations are not recognized in Japan.
Participants with licenses issued from Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, or Monaco would be required to obtain a Japanese Translation of their license from the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF).
Participants must carry their physical International Driving Permit (or original country license and official translation for some countries) and original passport.
If you are in the U.S. military, you will be eligible to drive with either your SOFA (USFJ Form 4EJ) Permit or state-side license and Active Duty Uniformed Military ID.
Please arrive at the redemption point 15 mins before the scheduled time of your experience to avoid any delays. Please bring your physical permits or necessary documents and physical passport with you.
2-hour go-karting option is available between July 01 and August 31, 2024, and the course goes through Akihabara, Shibuya Crossing, and Imperial Palace.
Tickets will be made available within 72 hours of booking.
