After I bought the tickets I saw I made a mistake about the day and time. I could not change that anymore. That I found a real pity. I can understand that you cannot change until last moment but this was a pity.

Not so many visitors when we were there, that it was possible to get so close and see properly, that the excavation site itself is literally like an archaeological and historical peephole in the middle of the city, that the depth down to the city shows how much ash has buried the city (that it cannot only be a cultural warehouse), that the place is large enough so that it can be taken in. If we get the opportunity, we will definitely visit the place again.

Very easy to buy the tickets online and we really had no problem getting in quickly. Herculaneum itself is an extraordinary experience. I must see if you are in the area of Vesuvius.

Easy to obtain the auduoguide, it had plenty of information recorded, 360 views, and, after completing the route, it had loads of additional information. Allows you to explore the place in your own speed.

The tickets provided an address location of wher to redeem. They led me on a long, out of the way walk, with my 71-year old mother, as we tried to get tix to enter. Otherwise a great historical experience. Fix your redemption address instructions!! This really made the tour missrable for my mom as she was already tired and exhausted for walking around for an hour before entering Pompeii. Also, the taxi scam is real. I was forced to pay 60 Euros just to get a ride from Pompeii to Herculanum!!! And then 70 Euros MORE by the only taxi waiting, just to go back to Centro Naples. So yeah. 190 Euros just to go to and from.

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible. Entry is free for people with disabilities and an accompanying adult.
Dogs are allowed into the venue, without restriction of breed or size. However, they must be kept with a leash and/or muzzle (the latter is obligatory for all breeds and opportunities provided by current regulations). Pet parents must have bags to collect any droppings.
In the Antiquarium, inside the Padiglione della Barca and in the domus with mosaic floors, access is allowed only to dogs carried in their arms or in the appropriate carrier.
