The Concert
An hour long performance by the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and Radio Choir playing classical music. The show will feature two main pieces.
The Camp Meeting by Ives
Written between 1908 and 1910 by Charles Ives; his symphony no. 3 - “The Camp Meeting” - is a work of genius. Awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1947, the symphony has three movements and lasts generally 20 minutes. With its complex harmonies and meters, the song is a reflection of the nostalgic past.
Stabat Mater by Schubert
Scored by Franz Schubert in 1816, the Stabat Mater was written for his brother Ferdinand. The work is divided into 12 movements and requires 40 minutes to be performed. The score requires a soprano, a tenor, and a baritone.
