Musician’s Bio - Vadim Gluzman
Born in 1973, Vadim Gluzman is a classical violinist in a family of musicians. He was mentored by Isaac Stern in Israel before moving to the US and attending the Juilliard School. In 1994, he received the Henryk Szeryng Foundation Career Award. In 2011 Vadim’s recording of Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 was awarded a Diapason d’Or.

The performance will feature the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra along with Vadim Gluzman. The musicians will perform two main pieces.
Violin Concerto by Bruch
Among the most popular violin concertos in the repertoire, Max Bruch composed the work in 1866. Scored for a solo violin and a standard classical orchestra, the work is among the most performed violin concertos The sequence comprises of three movements and is written in the classical structure.
Second Serenade by Brahms
Written in 1856, the second serenade was among the first orchestral works composed by Johannes Brahms. The composition was originally dedicated to Clara Schumann and involved 5 movements which take 30 minutes to perform.
