As you step inside, you'll be introduced to Duke Maximilian’s private chambers, steeped in history and filled with unique artworks narrating his life and legacy. Your guide will then take you to the regal Throne Room, recently restored to its majestic beauty, and the Music Room, where Archduchess Charlotte once played her beloved fortepiano.
Wander further to see the Archduchess’s light-blue silk-lined rooms and a library filled with towering bookshelves—glimpses into the personal lives of the castle’s noble residents. With your guide’s insights, each room brings to life the elegance and intrigue of the Habsburg court. Outside, stroll through the lush 54-acre botanical gardens, meticulously landscaped and dotted with rare plants collected by the Duke on his travels. Pause to take in the stunning views over the Gulf of Trieste, or explore the charming “little port” and Castelletto, where the couple resided before the castle’s completion.
