Wspaniale, że wszystko było wliczone w cenę. Jednak "przewodnik audio" był aplikacją! Nikt nam o tym nie powiedział, dopóki tam nie dotarliśmy, więc nie byliśmy w stanie wykonać tej części, ponieważ wi-fi i sygnał komórkowy były słabe, więc nie mogliśmy ich pobrać. Więc jeśli pójdziesz, pobierz aplikację i przynieś zestawy słuchawkowe!!! Poza tym była to niesamowita jednodniowa wycieczka, która była tego warta. Zostaliśmy ostrzeżeni z powodu pogody, aby wybrać się innego dnia, ale był to nasz ostatni dzień, więc stawiliśmy czoła deszczowi, który w końcu ustał i mieliśmy trochę słońca! :).

W Montserat jest o wiele więcej do zrobienia niż myślałem. Byliśmy tam od 9 do 17, a i tak mogliśmy zostać dłużej. Wymiana voucherów na bilety była dość bezbolesna. Chcieliśmy wcześnie opuścić Barcelonę, więc musieliśmy kupić bilet na pociąg dzień wcześniej, ponieważ biuro otwiera się dopiero o 8 rano. Cieszyliśmy się wolnością posiadania audioprzewodnika, zamiast wędrować za kimś.

Wszystko było zgodnie z ofertą A nasze spekulacje zostały w pełni spełnione. Jest to miejsce niezwykłej urody. Szkoda, że jeden dzień to zbyt mało, by zobaczyć tak wiele.

Having everything in one package was great. Reason a 4 rather than a 5 is instructions could have been better regarding the transfers between train to Monserrat and Monastery and which tickets are used for what activity.

Museums to explore

A historically rich and artistically significant site, the Open-Air Museum in Montserrat is a sanctuary comprising of multiple religious sites. Located here is the Holy Grotto, also called Santa Cova, where, according to legends, the sculpture of the Virgin of Montserrat was hidden to protect it from Moorish invaders. Catch a glimpse of the exhibition of Audiovisual Space Montserrat Portes Endins, which tells the story of the monastery, sanctuary, and the serrated mountains. To explore the artistic culture of the region, head over to the Museum of Montserrat, which was crowned a museum of national interest in 2006. Works by artists such as Monet, Dali, and Picasso grace the walls of the museum, with important archaeological collections from Mesopotamia, Persia, and Egypt displayed proudly in the museum.

What to bring

It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes along with comfortable shoes as the tour involves a fair amount of walking.
Carry sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses, and a bottle of water, especially during summer months.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: It is mandatory to cover shoulders and knees for both men and women. Flipflops aren't allowed.
Shutterbugs, take note: Flash photography is a no-go inside the basilica.

Accessibility

The majority of the Monastery complex is accessible to guests with disabilities but wheelchair users won’t be able to get right up to the Black Madonna.

Additional information

During booking, the time slot you select is for your timed entrance to visit Black Madonna. All other parts of your visit can be done at your own pace.
When planning your visit from Barcelona, factor in at least 70 minutes for the commute and 20 minutes for the uphill walk to the Black Madonna.
Mass at the Basilica takes place Monday to Saturday at 11am and 9.30am on all holidays including Sundays.
The Escolania de Montserrat boys sing at the basilica daily between Monday to Friday at 1pm and during Sunday Mass at 11am.
Choir performance times may vary in accordance with special religious celebrations and the school calendar.

Ticket Redemption Point for the Train tickets:

Redeem your ticket at the FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) ticket office at Barcelona-Plaça Espanya Station. You will need to exchange your voucher for your transportation ticket at the ticket office, open from 8 AM until 2 PM.
The transportation ticket includes the train and the rack railway. There are trains leaving for Montserrat every hour starting at 8:36 AM. You can check the departure times of the train on the official website of the FGC: https://www.fgc.cat/en/.
