The Palazzo Vecchio in Firenze was not really a very exciting museum visit. The art was mediocre and the palace itself lacks good taste. I thought the halls and rooms were not really very overwhelming. I had a nice outing and it got me out of the apartment and into the city centre again, which is always nice. Purchasing the ticket via Headout was very straightforward and a very good service. Very satisfying.

Bella esperienza, Firenze piana di arte. Palazzo vecchio bello ma ci sono monumenti più belli in città. Unica pecca del tour dei biglietti è che sarebbe stata compresa l'audioguida ma al momento opportuno l'applicazione headout non me la dava disponibile. Del resto pacchetti dei tour efficienti.

Der Museumsbesuch war ohne Wartezeit am Eingang möglich. Wir konnten direkt durchgehen und das beeindruckende Bauwerk bewundern.

Palazzo Vecchio, which stands majestically on Florence skyline, is one of the most recognized symbols of the city. Built during the Middle-Ages, it still preserves the austere architecture of the fourteenth century, with its crenellated top and the imposing Arnolfo’s Tower.

The indoor parts of the building, beautifully renovated in the '500 when the Palace became the house of Medici, are instead typically Renaissance and hold priceless treasures and works of art. In the sumptuous halls and the private apartments of the family, worked the greatest artists of the period. Accessibility

Guests with disabilities can enter the museum for free.
Access for visitors with mobility issues is via the side entrance in Via dei Gondi.
The two main floors of the museum are wheelchair accessible, but unfortunately, architectural barriers prevent access to the mezzanine floor and to some of the educational activity locations.
Visitors must leave all umbrellas, backpacks, and large bags in the cloakroom, free of charge. Wheelchairs and strollers may be borrowed here, free of charge.
The lift, which is situated on the ground floor in the Cortile della Dogana, is for the use of visitors with reduced mobility only

Additional information

This palace is also the seat of the city council. Unfortunately, this means that on certain special occasions when institutional ceremonies are scheduled, the museum may be totally or partially closed to the public.
